I posted last week about Project Linus donating blankets to hospitals for the children after Hannah was a recipient of one. This week we were at Walmart for a completely different reason (getting replacement glasses for Emma) when we walked through their fabric section. I let each of the older three kids pick out a fleece material that they liked to make a blanket to donate to Project Linus. The selection wasn’t all that great but they each chose well.

So, yesterday and today the kids worked on their simple no-sew fleece blankets and were so excited to see the final product. They are already asking when we can make more. I guess we can start adding some difficulty on to them. The true test will come when we go to the drop-off location and leave them behind. Will they truly understand what they are doing or will they be sad to part with something they worked hard on? Stay tuned!

What a great idea and how nice for the kids to get involved in service. I’d love to learn how to make no-sew fleece blankets…
