Stephenson Family Reunion
We always look forward to our reunions each year. Not only are they consistent, but you can tell that it took the entire year to plan and organize. Mom and Dad put a lot of thought and time into what the grandkids would like to do and also into what topics need to be discussed during our adult evening firesides. Our normal reunion time was cut short this year by one day because of schedules, but we crammed everything into 3 1/2 days and had a blast!
We had our normal picture day sporting our annual reunion t-shirts. This year the locations of all our reunions and their years are printed on the back . . . a great memory jogger!

All the Grandkids
Everyone enjoyed being together at Grandma and Grandpa’s house. There is the tree house to climb in, the chickens to play with, . . .

the beehives to avoid, the pool to swim in, and uncles to pal around with!

But, Grandma and Grandpa made sure we were organized with other activities. One evening we went roller skating on Disco Night. We all had a blast introducing the kids to roller skating! One morning the dads had a fireside with Grandpa discussing being good dads and then, in the afternoon, the moms had a fireside with Grandma on how to be good homemakers inside and out.

All of these were great and so helpful, but our ultimate favorite would have to be the annual GPS scavenger hunt. Mom and Dad always outdo themselves each year and we’re always amazed. It was an AWESOME morning!

Then to top everything off, on the last night of our reunion, we always have a Talent Show. I think it is the unwritten rule that at least one member of each family unit has to contribute a ‘talent,’ but all grandkids are expected to perform. Thus, once you have kids old enough to participate, the pressure is off! We enjoy just sitting back and watching our kids participate sharing their talents and interests.
This year Cami sang along to “Romeo & Juliet” by Taylor Swift. She also came decked out in Grandma’s dress-ups.

She definitely has a taste for style – I mean, check out those boots!

Caleb and Hannah showed off their newly found talent of the country swing/2-step, as well as each taking a turn at the piano.

Emma decided to display her talent a different way by making her favorite cookies (Chocolate Mint Marvels) for the refreshments. Perfect!
Afterwards, we had our Awards Ceremony. This year we received the following awards:

Cami – Prettiest Princess

Hannah – Wonderful Ballerina

Caleb – Best European Boy Scout of America

Emma – Newest Young Woman

Becca – Newest UK Driver

Chris – Newest Homeowner
We had a great reunion and were so sad to have to leave our old stomping ground as well as our family. We can honestly say, we left with tears streaming down our faces. So hard to leave behind our family in the states, no matter how much we love living in London!
My first thoughts…. When did Haley and Heidi have all those kids??? lol Looks like the reunion was a blast. Brings back memories of California reunions for me! Good times. 🙂
What a fun summer you’ve had! If you ever drive through CO again, please come see us!! 🙂 Oh, and Chris got newest homeowner…did you guys buy a place there?
