With Easter being tomorrow, I’ve been in the spring mood as of late, although the weather here hasn’t. We have had some nice spring rains, but they’ve been mixed in with chilly temperatures and strong winds. We still haven’t had any spring flowers poking out or blossoming, although we are waiting for these quite anxiously! I loved being at BYU and watching all the daffodils come out. I have to admit my roommate, Brooke, and I would discretely take a few back to our apartment so we could enjoy them indoors!
So, in hopes of spring’s arrival, I trimmed the girls’ hair. This was actually Cami’s first haircut and she was very excited. She’s watched everyone else have haircuts at home and I’m sure she was starting to feel left out. She sat very still and enjoyed showing off her shorter hair.

Hannah tried to convince me that she wanted her hair up to her ears. Um, no. I think it looks cute the length it is.

Emma, however, did NOT want her hair cut so I convinced her she needed a trim. It looks so much better now.

We also tried to fill our week with some spring projects. The first was actually my birthday gift from Jenn. Giving a craft idea with supplies to a mom is SUCH a great idea! I’d been holding on to it for the perfect time, which came this week. We made jelly bean bracelets from an idea in Family Fun magazine (although I couldn’t find the directions on-line, sorry). The kids enjoyed lining up their jelly beans in patterns but after the needles became sticky the ‘beading of the bracelets’ became a ‘mom job.’ But, they sure did look great when they were finished.

Of course, we couldn’t forget to decorate our Easter eggs.

I prepared a dozen eggs but will have to remember in the future to do more. The kids finished their allotted 3 eggs and began to ‘redip’ their eggs. The eggs turned from their beautiful pastel colors into interesting shades of brown and other dark colors. In the end, I guess they look like dinosaur eggs. They are definitely unique!
