Another year of high school and seminary under my belt – half way there! Our seminary ‘graduation’ this year was really nice. As we didn’t have any kids officially graduate, it was more centred on those who completed the year’s course. We each got a diploma in a really nice case!

I finished my sophomore year of high school this year and it has truly been a journey!
As we started the year, we were introduced to our big personal project. Although, it had been talked about before, this was the time that we had to decide on a topic, meet with a mentor, and start moving forward. It was supposed to take about six months to fully complete, and would be graded.
I decided to write a historical fiction book in the form of a diary about the Mormon pioneers. Some of my friends volunteered at charities, made movies, wrote children’s books, and painted paintings (art museum worthy and sold them for charity). I was relieved when our final reflection papers were turned in and we had displayed our final projects to the rest of the school and parents.
I was also nominated to apply for National Honour Society (NHS). I was excited to be accepted after sending in my application. One of our first events was helping with the ‘Nail Art Stand’ at the school’s Family Fun Day as the school year wrapped up.

We had a ton of girls bring in nail polish and we had an entire table filled with bottles. There was definitely a large selection!

I worked at this station for about four hours! Those tiny nails are really difficult!
Overall, I had a great sophomore year. I am looking forward to my last 2 years of high school, where my classes centre more around my interests and the level that I want to learn (IB and AP).
