Snow Day

The benefit, or downside depending on who you are, of snow on a homeschool day is that it doesn’t really matter how bad the roads are covered – because school marches on. Today we received our first snowfall this winter, and although it wasn’t extensive, the experience was at least welcomed. Personally, I was hoping to make it through the entire season without snow, but three kids’ combined prayers must have had more power than my single hope.

It actually blanketed the ground during the night, so the kids woke to a wonderful surprise and rushed out to play before the snow melted. Their “snow angels” were actually more like “slush angels,” but when you receive your first snow mid-January then you take what you can get. Needless to say, it was a great morning for the kids. Having to shovel and clean the car off is another story.
