October flew by somehow and before I knew it, it was the week of Halloween and not a pumpkin in our home. Monday afternoon we made sure to schedule in a quick stop at the closest pumpkin patch we could find.

We only had 20 minutes to spend there so we didn’t even make it out to the pumpkin field. We went for the pumpkins all lined up on the lot . . .

The kids still enjoyed picking out their pumpkins . . . and even ventured out to get some white ones this year!

Of course, we finally got around to decorating them 3 days later. Because Chris is our ‘master carver’ and was at work, we opted for painting.

This is about as good as it gets with my lack of artistic ability:

Of course, we had a couple kids who decided in the end that they didn’t really care for their painted pumpkins and spray painted them gold.

That got me thinking – when we’re done with Halloween, we can just spray-paint the rest of our pumpkins and we’ll be ready with Thanksgiving decorations! Quick and easy . . . just our speed!
