Caleb and I spent some quality time together during our “guy’s night out” to see the New Jersey Nets defeat the Sacramento Kings 109 to 96. We were both very excited, not only for the game, but to spend time together. In fact, by the time I arrived from work and we left, Becca and the girls were also ready for Caleb to leave and stop asking when it would be time.

We arrived early for the game, found our seats, bought some snacks, and sat to wait for the game to start. I spent some time explaining some of the arena and how we would watch the game (this was his first time at a live game), until Caleb finally asked with impatience, “When will the dancers come out?” – – And I thought we were there to watch a basketball game!
Don’t misunderstand, we both thoroughly enjoyed the game. Caleb really liked the lights, sounds, and cheers. He joined in with the clapping, cheering, and chanting, and was caught up into the whole experience. The only downside was seeing the Kings defeated, having once been a strong supporter, but as loyal New Jersey residents we cheered for the hometown team.
Becca was waiting to hear all about the night when we returned home. Caleb described everything in detail, beginning with the game – “and then there were dancers.” What a great boy!
Caleb….you have me laughing on this fine Sunday morning!!! Dancing girls!!!
