It was such a long day of driving – we had to get all the way back over the Atlas Mountains back to Marrakech . . . on the bus . . . on the windy and steep roads. Can you hear a nightmarish ride coming?
Before that, though, we enjoyed our morning at the kasbah. It really was a beautiful setting and well-kept.

It was nice that we got our luggage hauled through the trees this time, rather than us carrying them through. It definitely isn’t what you would envision a bellhop and luggage cart to be, but it worked.

Then we were on our way. Needless to say, motion sickness didn’t take long to hit. We ended up having to stop about every 15 minutes towards the end. Our driver, Ali, and guide, Nourdinne, were quite patient and just made the most of our breaks.

Emma took it all in stride. She is usually the one hit the worst with motion sickness so she either napped or stayed ‘in the zone.’

We were so happy to pull up to Marrakech and meet up with our riad host.

We really lucked out that our group was enough people that we filled the riad. We had it all to ourselves for the few days we were in Marrakech. We let the kids separate amongst themselves, rather than staying in family groups. The kids were thrilled!

We knew from the get-go that this little tiny pool was going to be a highlight for the kids. During our first day, the kids were in and out of it three times between our arrival and bed time. We pretty much lived in this courtyard.

The rooftop patio was a really fun place, but it was just too hot. This table is where they normally serve their meals, but because of the heat, we always ate by the kitchen at a long table.

We were really looking forward to relaxing and not having to pack up for a few days.
