We woke up this morning to choruses of “Happy Christmas Eve!” You would have thought it was already Christmas! I love when the kids are so happy and excited!
All of our ‘to do’ things are almost done. Today I am planning on finishing up our preparations for our Christmas Eve dinner. We decided last year we’d like to have our big Christmas meal on Christmas Eve, rather than on Christmas Day, as all my childhood Christmas memories are of my dad (the ‘holiday chef’) in the kitchen while we were unwrapping gifts. Then we can have a relaxing Christmas Day together with our family without worrying about cooking dinner as well. So tonight we are having some friends over to help enjoy dinner, we’ll do our yearly nativity skit of Luke 2, and open up new pajamas for Christmas.
Bonus for the day – we had a little bit of icy rain last night which closed some roads as well as backed up the tunnel into NYC so Chris is home with us . . . and even brought us donuts on his way back from the bus stop! The kids thanked him over and over again, he was almost overwhelmed. He really made their day!
We hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your families!
