Summer has officially started for our household so we’ve been thinking of some fun things to do that will get us out of the house each day. Emma made up a calendar to fill up our 6 weeks’ worth of break; then Chris realized we didn’t have any days open to meet him for lunch. We quickly remedied that and met him in Central London the next day.
We tried a ‘new-to-us’ restaurant (Vapiano) where we could watch our meal being prepared right in front of us, from the homemade noodles . . .

to the pan . . .

to the serving dish.

The food was great and we even beat the lunch hour rush.
On our way down Oxford Street we noticed all the country flags are up in preparation for the Olympics.

Chris treated us to dessert as we walked back to his office. The kids opted for ice cream while I went for one of the cookies (white chocolate chunk).

This was definitely helping Chris win the ‘coolest dad’ award.

After we dropped Chris back at his office, the kids and I relaxed in Green Park (before being told we had to pay for the chairs we were sitting in). It was fun to see more Olympic excitement creeping up in the city.

It was definitely a fun day out, but the filling lunch made us a little unproductive the rest of the day.
