Some friends in our ward decided to go on a group camping trip to a local campsite. Our kids were so excited and even sat through the 2 hours worth of driving (that was supposed to be 45 minutes) in heavy traffic with no complaining!
The kids and I set up the tent and played around with friends while we waited for Chris to come on the tube.

Cami and Jaice
Caleb enjoyed being able to use his pocket knife during this trip. He wasn’t the only young man enjoying the freedom of whittling during this campout!

Chris (and most of the dads) showed up just in time for dinner.

Roasting Hot Dogs
There was just enough sunlight after dinner to get some group games going. I believe ‘long ball’ was the longest one played.

It has been such a long time since we’ve all been camping together that the girls were beyond excited to roast marshmallows.

Some of our British friends tried s’mores for the first time. I’m afraid the hype was too much and they just thought us odd for enjoying them so much.
We had a great evening letting the kids stay up to get all their energy out. It was the perfect weather – not too hot and not too cold. Of course, you can’t press your luck in London for too long and not get rain. Thankfully, it hit just in time for us to pack up and leave.

Breakfast in the Rain
We are definitely looking forward to our next camping trip. We had a great time with great friends!
