This sale occurs twice a year, but we usually only make it to one. Our ‘one’ was this past Friday. We weren’t sure what to sell this year as we wanted to do our standard (homemade bread) but also a craft or two that wouldn’t take too long to make. We made a long list and continually narrowed it down until only two ideas remained – cloth covered clothespins and tooth fairy bags. So, that’s what we went with.
The whole week leading up to the sale, we were busy baking bread and storing it in our deep freeze. The day before the sale we finally started in on our crafts . . . not such a great idea as I start to get in ‘the zone’ where I am driven by a goal and a deadline. When that happens, I will stay up until the wee hours of the morning to get things done. Next time . . . we will start prepping sooner!
But, really, aren’t these tooth fairy bags the coolest?! The little tooth is open at the top to put the lost tooth in and then the tooth fairy puts the money inside the bag and cinches it closed. I loved them! We also made some plain bags for those who are out of the ‘losing teeth’ stage.

The kids had a great time at the sale. Emma seemed to enjoy taking her shift at our table to sell our wares.

Hannah and Caleb really enjoyed spending their money for other people’s wares. Caleb was particularly interested in purchasing this homemade marshmallow shooter.

All in all, we made some good spending money for a fun activity some time. Even greater still was the opportunity to spend time with friends and other homeschooling kids.
