Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there. My own is doing a Philmont 10-day trek this Father’s Day so I hope he’s having a good one!
Our Father’s Day at home was relatively quiet, but that seems to be how we like them. As soon as Chris got back from his morning church meetings, the kids met him at the door with shouts of “Happy Father’s Day” and surprised him with a decorated chair to sit in while he opened his gifts.

As for the gifting, we upgraded, or rather, regraded Chris’ tool collection. Before we went to grad. school Chris actually had a good collection of tools as we had remodeled our entire home. But, when we left for school we parted with most of them as we didn’t have the room or the time. So, sadly to say, Chris has made due with a tired out cordless drill and a handsaw for 5 years now. He is now the proud owner of a new cordless drill plus some. He (and Caleb) were beyond thrilled. We also framed a picture of Chris with the kids and gave him a new shirt for work.

The primary kids sang to all the dads at church and they did such a great job. The dads then received collections of cards, candy, and carnations to put in their lapels.
Of course, what Father’s Day would be complete without a barbecue and cheesecake?!
Hope everyone had a great Father’s Day!
