We went along with the local public schools and had a Spring Break the week before Easter. It was a great break to get things done and then move on to some of the fun things, like Easter crafts.
Hannah and I worked on this ‘swag’ for the fireplace and made one for a table runner as well.

I have been wanting to make an Easter tree from blown, decorated eggs for a long time and was so happy with how it turned out.

The kids were excited to dye Easter eggs again. I guess Cami must not have been too involved last year because she wasn’t sure what we were doing at first. It was great to see her surprise as we pulled her first egg out of the dye.

Of course, I should have boiled more eggs . . . 4 a piece was just not enough. So, the eggs were dyed, re-dyed, and re-dyed, thus some ended up looking the color of rocks. I remember that happening last year. So, note to self – boil more eggs next year!

Easter morning was an early one for us since church starts at 9:00 a.m. and I had to be there early to set up the primary room and play prelude! We had a great egg hunt in the morning for the kids. Cami was just beside herself with excitement. Anyone wonder who she gets her expressions from?!

Then each child went on their own scavenger hunt to find their surprises. That clever Easter bunny had them up and down 3 flights of stairs to search for the clues. Cami found her surprise under her bed.

Hannah found hers under all the blankets in the blanket chest.

Caleb found his under the sink in an un-used bathroom.

Emma found hers in the car trunk.

But, above all, it was a great day to spend together as a family and remember why we have this wonderful Easter day.
