I am the first to admit that Halloween is my least favorite holiday. I do not like the scary things related to it and am not one for people dressed in costumes, especially in masks. This has always been the case – growing up I never liked seeing the Easter Bunny or Santa. But with kids of my own, it’s unavoidable – Halloween happens and with it . . . costumes.
Caleb has wanted to be Robin Hood for the last 3 years and I kept promising him that I would make the costume for him. I finally got the pattern last October, got the material for it in June, cut it out last week, and made it this week. Such a drawn out process – you think I could stream-line it a little bit. I had Caleb do the final ‘fitting’ this afternoon after I had sewed the feathers onto his hat. He was SO excited – it made the whole project (late nights included) worth it.
So, here is our Robin Hood modeling his newest wardrobe:
I don’t know whether to be offended at my special day, or glad that you can then focus on my birthday instead of the holiday. Hmm. I may have to ponder on this for a while…
That is a SUPER cute costume…in the most manly sense of the word, Caleb! 🙂 You did a great job on it Becca! What are your girls going to be? I have to say I LOVE Halloween but NOT the scary stuff. In fact my visting teacher just came over and described my decorations as “cute”. So I think I’m OK. Not even a skeleton around here! LOL
His costume is great. He even goes with the scenery!!! I can’t wait to see everyone. Have a great Halloween!
Becca! The costume turned out amazing!! I know I couldn’t pull something off like this!
I am with you on not liking the scary Halloween stuff. Every time I have gone into Michaels since the Halloween stuff has been out, Jared freaks, and says “I don’t like that, it scares me Momma!” I just don’t like all that gorey and nasty stuff they have out.
