One more post about last weekend and I’ll move on . . . I promise.
With both sets of grandparents here, we had a pretty even ratio of grandparents vs. kids. Each of them had individual time with each grandparent, leaving Chris and me to work in the background on the more trivial matters. It was great for all of us. My favorite time was right after dinner when we sat around our ‘mega-table’ to share stories with the kids and just talk. It is commonly referred to as ‘family bonding time’. We could sit there and talk for hours!

The kids played games (Grandpop Nevin made sure Emma and Caleb were trained well in playing backgammon),

made block creations,

and just played.

One night we got a babysitter and all the adults went into the city to enjoy “Wicked” on Broadway. This was kind of a delayed Christmas present for them, but it was exciting nonetheless. Chris and I were seeing it for the second time and it was still as wonderful as the first time.

It was so hard to let the grandparents leave but we were so thankful we had them for 4 full days. We miss being close to family, but it definitely makes these times more memorable!
