Words cannot even begin to express how we feel about Chris in our home. He is a great example to all of us. We always feel well-taken care of and loved. Sometimes we struggle in finding the perfect way to show Chris how much we love and appreciate him. Add this on to his new minimalism lifestyle, and we were at a loss for Father’s Day.
It took a little outside of the box thinking and stretching ourselves, but we feel like we found the perfect gift . . . a one of a kind piece of artwork with Chris’s favourite people!

Our Family in Watercolour
A gal in our ward is an amazing artist and agreed to do a watercolour painting of our family. All I had to do was send her some recent pictures of us to use as her models. That part was easy!
Needless to say, we were thrilled with the end product when I picked it up. The next hurdle for me was getting it framed . . . I have such a hard time making decisions that all I wanted to do was ask Chris his opinion. But I pushed aside my insecurities and went to the frame shop on my own. And it all turned out wonderfully.
Chris was really surprised with the gift and he loved it. It’s so fun to walk by it hanging in our home. It definitely meant a lot more to him than some new pairs of socks or something else that he didn’t need.

Hanging Around
Chris’s new way of life has really helped us evaluate what is really important and how we can find more meaning in a more simplistic way of living. We truly are grateful for Chris and his integral part of our family!
