This week Emma informed me that she has ‘officially’ decided on what she would like to be when she grows up. Not long ago she was very seriously looking into becoming a librarian. When we were at Cornell, she kept great notes on what the librarians did at both the libraries we frequented. Emma even went as far as setting our home library up complete with check-out cards in each book. However, her career decision has been swayed – by what, I am not sure. But, as of this week, she would like to be a fashion designer . . . and a crossing guard . . . and a rancher. I was surprised by these but she assured me she could do all three. She will live on a ranch in Montana, be a crossing guard before and after school, and during the day she will design dresses. I always wondered what my bus drivers did while we were in school . . . perhaps they had very lucrative jobs from home!
Emma has been working the last few days in her spare time designing dresses. It has reminded me of the book “The Hundred Dresses†by Eleanor Estes. So, here are a few samplings from her collection . . .

I LOVE the accesories with each dress. Order me one up!
Who wants to be the one to tell Emma that Montana is too sparsely populated to have crossing guards??
So cute! Have you taught her how to sew yet?
I love how the shoes make the dresses POP!!! I will be a customer! I can see it now, “Well……..my niece is a dress designer”, I can’t wait!
