Easter did come to our home last week. We had a great time being together and remembering the real reason for the holiday. April is one of my favorite months for a number of different reasons and I’m always so glad for the reminder of Easter to celebrate why all those reasons are important.
After a week of summer-like weather, we had a torrential downpour (complete with thunder and lightening) the night before Easter, which canceled any plans the Easter Bunny had of hiding eggs in our back garden. We still can’t wait to have an outdoor egg hunt back there – I may even join in!
The kids gifted us with being able to sleep in. We had a fun egg hunt indoors where the kids also found their special eggs that start their scavenger hunt in search of their Easter baskets.

Usually the kids stampede after each other to find all the neat hiding places the Easter Bunny found while they were sleeping, but this year, they let each other enjoy their hunt on their own. Excitement continued as the Easter baskets were brought back from the hunt and were searched through to enjoy all the surprises.

The Easter Bunny definitely had a ‘bag theme’ going on this year. Cami and Hannah each got a ballet bag; Caleb and Emma each got new scripture cases.
It was a great day and we’re so grateful for the gift that Easter is!
