Caleb was able to participate in the District Pinewood Derby run-off last week. He loved sitting with the older boys from his den and getting to know them better. He was excited when he came in first in his first heat, but then indifferent as he took second and third in the other heats and didn’t make the finals.
The girls enjoyed the cupcakes as we watched and cheered Caleb’s car on.
When Caleb was called up front to receive his participation certificate, the man called him “Saleb Stephenson” then Caleb’s den leader leaned over and said, “No, it’s Caleeb Stephenson” – she ALWAYS pronounces it like it was Indian or something. I thought it was so funny that they both pronounced it in what might be taken for Indian but in two different ways and neither one of them is that nationality!
