Cotswolds (Wednesday):
The Cotswolds of England basically consist of the countryside of England with their rolling hillsides (‘wolds’). We had a tour guide, Tim, to drive us around and give us some historical background. What we truly got was an amazing day driving around getting the ‘backstage tour’ of English country life. Tim actually lives in the Cotswolds in a village called Snowshill, where he and his wife have a bed and breakfast. He is just recently retired from the sheep business but still has a number of sheep he has kept. You can imagine, we learned A LOT about the sheep industry – everything from breeding, shearing, life cycles, etc.
It was a perfect day to do a driving tour as there was plenty of rain and we were content to drive around in the car, stopping occasionally to roll the windows down to take some pictures.
Here is a slide-show of our day as it’s much better described in pictures than words (click on ‘View All Images’ below). Just imagine the birds singing, the ducks waddling around, and the swans swimming beside you on the river. It is just picturesque and surreal.
