Each birthday Cami has will definitely be momentous for our family, as she is our ‘baby.’ But turning 12 is a big one . . . the year to gain more independence with joining young womens, attending youth mutual activities, and taking public transportation solo.

This girl has grown up so much this last year, especially in height! She’s becoming a beautiful young woman inside and out, having her heart in the right place.

It was the year for a birthday party so Cami invited some friends to come home with her from school the Friday before her birthday.

True to London, rain made going to the park out of the question, but the kids played games inside and enjoyed watching a movie together. Of course, the pizza was a hit too!

Being at an international school has been such a treat for our kids and it was fun to look around the table to see how many nationalities (French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, British, American, Israeli) were represented. It was no surprise when one of the kids suggested they all sing “Happy Birthday” in their own languages!

Blowing out the Candles
When the food was eaten and presents explored, the boys left while the girls were getting warmed up for their sleepover . . . and more movies!

Ready for Bed
On Cami’s actual birthday, we celebrated as a family with Cafe’ Rio salads and leftover Heath Bar cake. We hadn’t had this cake for so long and were excited for it. Apparently, it’s too sweet for some . . . not us Americans though! We licked the pan clean!

Making a Wish

Cami had high hopes for her own phone, as all her older siblings received phones when they turned 12 as well.

Tears of Joy
Even when her hope became a reality, she couldn’t hold back the tears. Not every gift brings out this type of emotion, I guess!

Caleb was anxious to show her all the ins and outs of her new phone. Between he and Chris, Cami was set to go (with limitations, of course).

Next year, an ‘official’ teenager . . .
