Last week I turned a year older . . not necessarily wiser, but definitely older. We celebrated the night before with Chris making dinner, opening gifts, and enjoying some cheese cake and banoffee.
Chris and the kids made me feel very spoiled. Emma gave me a scarf she has been working hard on for quite a long time. I love all the colors she tied into it.

Chris shocked me with a George Foreman Grill.

I’ve made a really good sandwich on it, but would love to hear how others use theirs.
On my actual birthday, our math tutor, Roby, stayed later and helped the kids make a dinner of Italian pizza.

It was great . . and even better that I didn’t have to cook!

We had one more birthday last week – for Cami’s friend. He had a Pirate Party and Cami was so excited about the costume we put together for her to wear (without having to purchase anything!). We may have to remember this one for Halloween this year!

The Sweet Pirate
Happy Birthday, Becca! Looks like you had a wonderful day! I don’t know if I’m very creative with my little grill but it makes quick work of shish-k-bobs and grilled fish comes out quite delicious. I also use it to heat refried beans between two tortillas for quick burritos (or quesadillas). It’s also nice to cook veggie burgers on because then you don’t have to flip them and they stay together better. I think that’s all I’ve got…besides the normal grilling of meat and veggies. I am sure you’ll love yours! They are especially nice in the summer when you don’t want to heat up your house.
I’m glad to hear that you had a good birthday and that you got to have some banoffee! Ben has been asking for me to make some . . . and it’s been forever since I’ve done it. Yum!
I love my George Foreman, but I mostly just use it for sandwiches. The best sandwiches have a little cream cheese on them – my favorite is turkey, provolone, cream cheese, tomato, and spinach (or arugula, to be even awesomer). I will do hamburgers or a chicken breast occasionally, when I just want a little bit to throw in a salad or something. A friend of mine makes quesadillas on her GF.
Have fun!
Happy Belated Birthday!! I don’t have a Foreman grill, but I’ve heard you can make some pretty great things on it! I’m sure you’ll get some good use out of it!
Happy Birthday!! Every year when I forget your birthday I say I’m going to do better the next year….and I’m not. I wish I was better at keeping track of my friend’s birthdays….I should make it a new goal. 🙂 It looks like you had a great day. I love the scarf Emma made. I don’t have a GF grill, but I’m sure whatever you make on it will be great cause you are a really good cook !!
Happy Birthday Becca! Looks like it was a great celebration. That grill was a great gift idea. We use ours for turkey burgers, and occasionally a hamburger BUT the BEST thing on it is salmon! Do you guys like fish? It is so yummy on that grill. You get some Caribbean Jerk seasoning (down the cooking isle – if they don’t have it there I’ll send it) Rub that into the salmon and cook it for a few minutes – until it’s done how you like it. Get a lemon to squeeze on and your done. Some Uncle Ben’s Wild Rice is very good on the side too. That’s one of our favorite (and easiest) meals. Again, happy birthday!
Happy Birthday! A little late, but I still mean it!
Catching up here! Happy belated birthday beautiful Becca. Still have your chirstmas card on the fridge!!!
