As Americans, a year would not be complete without celebrating Thanksgiving and contemplating our gratitude during the month of November. It is quite difficult to do in England as it, obviously, isn’t celebrated here. Halloween is even a new presence in the UK and you have to look hard for anything Halloween-y in the shops among all the Christmas items that creep out in August or September.
We weren’t very good about doing our ‘Thankful Tree’ during the month of November, adding something new each day. But, we got it out for our big Thanksgiving dinner – the Saturday after the actual American holiday – and our friends helped fill it up.

2015 Thankful Tree
We had an amazing dinner full of wonderful food, fun friends, and side-splitting laugher.

Thanksgiving Guests
We were a mixed cultural group, although no one was new to a Thanksgiving dinner. We had representatives from America, New Zealand, Mexico, and England. We definitely count friends as one of the things we are thankful for this year. They have become our family in England, while we are far from any other family members. They make any annual celebration bigger and better.
