Here we are in the last month of winter and we have finally had a REAL snow day. No, this isn’t our first snow but every other time it snowed, it was on a Sunday (we don’t let the kids play outside on Sundays) or it melted before we could get out there to play in it.
We weren’t able to get out to shovel our walks until almost noon and at that point we had already had 3 different men ring our doorbell to ask if we wanted them to shovel our walks. This never happened to me until we moved to New Jersey. I would understand a teenage boy looking for a little extra cash asking neighbors if they would like their walks shoveled, but grown men . . . it’s a little disconcerting to me. So, we shoveled our own walks and driveway.
The kids mostly played but they all had a blast. Emma was insistent on making a snowman – our one for the year.

Hannah loved making snow angels.

Caleb couldn’t make enough holes to stick his head into . . . I have no idea where this notion came from and wish I had gotten a picture of him with his head actually in the hole.

Cami loved just being in the snow. We had a hard time getting her to keep her gloves on, although the cold didn’t seem to bother her. (This picture is actually from last week when we had snow in the late afternoon and we had to go out to shovel before it froze overnight.)

The only problem with today – I had upset kids when I wouldn’t take them sledding. Shoveling wore me out and after that I was ‘done’ with the snow and not really up for sledding. Maybe tomorrow . . .
Wow! The snow looks so fun! Taylor LOVED our mini snow excursion. I think we’ll need to plan a sledding trip next winter.
