Date in London

It’s not too often that Chris and I go out on a date in the city, but we have never gone during the day!  It is so nice having a child old enough to babysit!

Chris had gotten me tickets to see Matilda: the Musical for Mother’s Day.  I didn’t realize at the time that it was the same weekend as The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee was being held.  So, we got to enjoy Central London with all it’s bunting hung!

We even found a Carhartt store in amongst the street boutiques!  We had quite a shock when we walked in and saw how ‘posh’ they can turn American work clothes!  Definitely not your standard Carhartts, but Chris still picked up a new pair of jeans, as they are his favorite.

The show was just as amazing as when I went with the girls a couple weeks ago.  This time our seats were in the 2nd row from the stage.  It was a little too close actually, as we could see spit flying out of the performers mouths as they spoke and sweat being thrown to the side as they gestured with their hands.  I’m sure every actor gives up a certain amount of pride as they sacrifice for their craft.

It was a fun day out IN London!  Hopefully we can do it again soon!

Very fun! Can’t wait till we have a kid old enough to babysit too. 🙂 I think we’ve got a little while though. I heard someone else from JC ward is moving to London. Did you ever know Liz and Frank White??

So fun! I’m also counting down the days when we’ll have a child old enough to babysit. For now, we’re bracing ourselves for the period where we’ll have too many kids to “swap” with other parents, and we’ll have to pay the big bucks. I’m glad you guys get to go out on dates!
