Today Cami turned 3 years old. Can you believe it?! Me neither. So, in honor of Cami’s big day, we took the day off of school and spent the day with her solely in mind.
Of course, with all of Cami’s excitement for her birthday, she was up before anyone. When I realized I couldn’t fend her off any longer she and I took our first trip to Dunkin Donuts for a birthday breakfast treat. When the other kids got up, you would have thought they were in heaven! Cami licked the chocolate icing off of hers and declared she was full.

When chores were done, we ventured out to our local zoo. Cami was looking forward to riding the train but it wasn’t open for the season yet. This caused some disappointment, but it was forgotten as we discovered all the new animals the zoo had to offer already. We could have watched the little baby prairie dogs all day!

When we emerged from the zoo we decided to walk across the road to the park to enjoy our snacks. But, when we crossed over, this is what greeted us:

I then piled disappointed children in the car only to hear “Let’s ride the ponies!” I KNEW Cami wouldn’t get near the pony and I didn’t have enough cash with me for the other kids to each get a turn so I brushed off their request. Then Cami began the chant as well and assured me she would ride the pony. We made a deal – Cami would get to ride the pony because it was her birthday. Surprisingly, the other kids were very supportive of that decision. Phew! Then more surprisingly, when Cami’s turn came, she was ready for the pony BUT only if I was able to walk around the track holding her hand. But, she did it . . . and she said it was very fun! She really is growing up!

At home, we were in for the long wait for Dad to come home for Cami’s party. He finally arrived and we had pizza for dinner, opened presents, and had cake and ice cream.

I loved watching Cami’s face each time she opened a gift – pure joy, excitement, and surprise!

Here are 3 fun facts about Cami at this age:
1. She loves omelets or granola for breakfast.
2. Her favorite color is PINK!
3. She loves to be read to but can never get enough of “Freddie and Flossie” books.
Happy birthday, Cami!!
