Hannah’s 6th birthday is right around the corner and how did she want to celebrate a new year in her life? . . . riding the Polar Express! It turned out that we had to go on this special outing a little bit before her birthday as tickets were selling out like hot cakes!
So, our special Polar Express ride was Saturday night. The kids all wore their pajamas to help recreate the ‘mood.’ The day before we had also watched the movie – on hind sight, we should have brought the book along to read along with the story over the loud speaker.
Our conductor was great – he sang along to the music and got really into it. I loved that he made a big deal about getting everyone’s tickets punched (and to think everyone was a volunteer – they love what they do!).
The kids enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies served by jolly singing waitresses.
Then the moment we were all waiting for – Santa!!!
And of course, they all got their special bell – they still ring true for everyone in our home!
