Happy New Year to everyone! Besides all the goals and changes that happen around the beginning of the new year, we have also been winding down the holiday season, including the last big night of the year – New Year’s Eve. It seems like we lose interest in the festivities of New Year’s Eve more and more every year. This year was only compounded by the fact that it was on Sunday. In fact, Becca and I would have probably celebrated the New Year with London if Emma and Caleb hadn’t learned to tell time so well this year. The kids were excited for the “celebration” and the opportunity to stay up until midnight.
I say “celebration” because we got a little crazy and did two puzzles instead of just one. I had to attend a church meeting and didn’t get home until 10:00, only to find the kids asleep on the couch and Becca enthralled in the second puzzle, having finished one without me. The kids apparently held out as long as they could before giving in to exhaustion at about 9:30. So, to ring in the new year Becca and I finished a puzzle while listening to one of the sweetest things on earth – four sleeping children.
