Last Sunday while we were in Orlando, we rented a car and drove a couple hours north to visit my grandparents. It was such a treat for all of us. They are so ‘young at heart’ at 80 years old that you can’t help but smile at their interaction with their great-grandchildren. I loved that they asked the kids questions and hung on every word they returned in their responses. Of course, they were happy to talk to Chris and me as well.

Grandpop took some of the kids for a walk and Hannah found this shell in the road (because they use broken up shells instead of broken up rocks). Obviously this shell missed the ‘mashing.’

Grandmom took the kids down to the pond and they found all sorts of treasures: feathers, ducks (surely the owners of the aforementioned feathers), pine cones, sticks, shell pieces, etc.

We were all sad to go our separate ways but it was a Sunday Drive we won’t soon forget and we were thankful we had it.
