We took Cami to get her 2 year old pictures taken this evening. Knowing Cami like we do and her fear of other people, let alone people she’s never seen before, we were a little nervous about taking her for this annual event. But, if you wait for the perfect moment, it never comes, right?!
We arrived at our favorite photography place 15 minutes before our appointment only to find there were people that had been waiting for an hour past their appointment time. For some reason, they were extremely backed up and understaffed with some of their staff working 2 hours after their shift had ended. Was it the overbooking of appointments or staff that just chose not to show up that day? Who knows but that was the beginning of the end.
We finally got into a room and our photographer was happy and seemed to want to give us her undivided attention, which was great. Cami acted shy but stayed where she was put for the pictures and didn’t cry, but didn’t smile either. Then as soon as the photographer said the ‘tickle monster’ was coming, Cami screamed and refused to be calmed down. So, that was it. We ended up choosing the photo that was not as bad as the other three and brought it home, knowing that a retake would probably only go just as well as the first time around.
It’s really the effort that counts on this one, I think.
