Caleb has been the ‘king of notes’ lately, especially at church. He writes little notes and passes them down the pew to me or brings them up to the organ before church starts. Today he decided to write one to our branch president.
I happened to be playing the postlude at the organ when Caleb brought his note up to President M. (who is this child he is becoming?!) after Sacrament meeting. Pres. M. read it out loud to me and it was an invitation for him to come over to read scriptures at our house at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow. I laughed thinking this was funny that Caleb would write something like this, but Pres. M. took it seriously and felt badly he couldn’t make this ‘appointment.’ I didn’t think much of it after that, but obviously Pres. M. did because he came to get Caleb out of Primary during Sharing Time. Poor Caleb felt he was in trouble being called out of class by the branch president! Pres. M. apologized that he couldn’t make the appointment tomorrow but wondered if he could do it right then. So, Caleb went back into Primary to grab his scriptures and the two of them went off to share their favorite scriptures. Before Caleb went back to class, Pres. M. gave him a little picture of Jesus with a little boy. Caleb couldn’t wait to tell us about this after church. It really made his day . . . and I was so impressed that Pres. M. took that extra time from his busy Sunday to share a favorite scripture with a boy in Primary.
