Up All Night

sick-girl.gif
Chris and I often comment that we are so grateful that our family tends to be fairly healthy. Whether it’s due to our vitamins (hurray for Melaleuca!), our way of life, or our great gene pool, we very rarely get sick. If we happen to get sick, it doesn’t last very long. So, I was a little surprised last night as I was getting ready for bed to hear Cami throwing up in her crib. She handled it a lot better than any of our other kids at that age. I put her on some blankets on my bedroom floor with her little bowl and a glass of water. Not too long after that I heard Hannah get up and go in the bathroom. I ran in there and sure enough she was sick to her stomach too. My first thought was “Why THIS week? Chris’ one week of the month that he’s in Europe!” But, I mentally prepared myself for a long night. Both girls slept on my floor and for quite a time I was lying down between them trying to help them at alternating times as they got sick. I was so grateful when they were both able to fall asleep and I crept into my bed at 2:30 a.m. Thankfully today is Caleb’s birthday (look for another post later today!) so we had planned a very light day of school! If you saw the girls this morning you wouldn’t even know they had been sick last night. They are chipper and running around like they had a full night’s rest – Mom is another story!

Ugh! There is nothing worse than the stomach bugs! And why is it that they always hit in the middle of the night? Good luck avoiding it! I hope it stays contained!

I’m glad they’re feeling better…and I hope you can catch up on your own sleep!

Oh, and I’m sure Josh would appreciate the Melaleuca plug–his employer 🙂

Oh so sorry! Sorry you had to do it alone too! I hope that is the last you see of it!

    Happy Birthday to Caleb!

We seem to be blessed with that relatively healthy gene too….so it does really take us off guard when they are sick. I’m sorry you had to brave that alone, but glad they are feeling better.
