You may remember that this has happened before – this time Chris was home to experience how scary it is when it happens.
We were getting ready for dinner. Not just getting dinner ready but actually having the kids get up to the table while I was pouring glasses of milk (Chris had just gotten home from work and was changing his clothes). Cami was climbing up on the bench to get into her seat when she slipped and fell backwards onto the floor, hitting her chin on the bench. I thought (HOPED) she had just hit her chin but I picked her up and realized she was spitting blood. Cami managed to bite a big gash in her tongue again – not in the same place! So, now judging from the last time this happened, she may be the only person I know who will have a scar on their tongue, let alone 2 (yes, her other gash did scar – at least for this stage of her life).
So we had a hungry little girl who couldn’t eat anything because it hurt too much. She finally agreed to a popsicle. After that nothing worked to appease her as I’m sure she just hurt and was frustrated. When I finally asked her if she wanted a bath (badly needed at that point), she calmed down and got excited. That was a heavenly half an hour as she just played and was happy, forgetting about her tongue. Afterwards was a different story. Poor girl. Maybe some day she’ll grow into her tongue . .

poor thing. you and ian should get together. he’s bitten a hole through his tongue too.
Poor baby! That looks like it hurts so bad! I know how I feel when I barely bite my tongue…I can’t imagine how hers must feel! Thank goodness for popsicles! Hope she gets to feeling better soon! Seems like mouths do heal pretty quickly though! Thank goodness!
That has to be such an aweful place for a cut…and to be so small. I hope she feels better soon.
