For Family Home Evening last night we decided to put up our Christmas tree. Of course, it’s a lot easier said than done. We basically have to ‘build’ our tree from top to bottom and though it is fun to see it come together, it’s a long process . . . made only longer by all the perfectionists in the family that have to make every single branch look real (no bits of the branches facing the wrong way).

When the tree was finally put together we took a break. After dinner we came back to put lights and decorations on. This is one of my favorite things about putting up the Christmas tree. It’s so fun to pull the ornaments out of the box, look at the initial on the bottom and remember who gave that to who and how old they were. Caleb kept waiting for his Bob the Builder ornament that Aunt Helen’s family gave him when he was around 2 years old. I was surprised he remembered it was in there but it’s his favorite. Cami had a problem putting her few ornaments on the tree. She just wanted to sit and play with them. Whatever makes her happy . . . you can tell she’s a fourth child!

Then when the tree was done, the decorations put up, we just sat in the living room and enjoyed the cozy feeling they created. I love Christmas!
Looks like you’re all having a fun holiday season!!! It’s so fun to see your little family grow up! Good luck with Cami’s stocking!!!
Looks beautiful! Christmas trees ARE a lot of work…but worth it in the end. I always miss the cozy glow when Christmas is over. I love your page, too! It turned out great!
Love the scrapbook page you made!
Christmas is my favorite holiday! I love the smells, the sights, the music! It’s great!
Wow! What a beautiful tree! How tall is it?
Amy, the tree is a little bit taller than our ceiling – we have to bend over the top branch. My guess is between 9.5 – 10 ft. It used to be Chris’s parents’ until they decided to get an ‘easier’ tree that is already prelit. We love this tree though – for our kids right now it’s fun.
