Since Chris gave me a day to spend with my parents sans kids, I was able to encourage him to take one with his parents as well. They were able take a slight sidetrack from the normal London sites to see Chris’s office – the outside, of course. Who wants to go inside the office when you are on vacation?
They had a great time at the Tower of London. It had changed since Chris’s parents had been there last. The beefeater tours are always the best though!
What is synonymous with the Tower of London?
Ravens, of course! Without them around the superstitious British believe the Tower will fall and the kingdom will fall. Even today, at least 6 ravens are always kept to ensure this doesn’t happen.
I have often had brief glimpses of Chris’s dad in Chris, especially when he’s giving a talk in church. But, the mannerisms and other tendencies are only getting more noticeable as time goes on.
Uncanny, isn’t it?!
So, thankful to have been able to spend 2 1/2 weeks with family on our own turf. What a great, memorable experience!
