Twilight

twilight1.gif

I had heard nothing but good things about this book “Twilight” by Stephenie Meyer. So, trying to be better about reading books for myself, I put it on hold at the library. It came in yesterday so I picked it up in the afternoon. I made the mistake of starting to read it while I was waiting for the water to boil for dinner. I had such a hard time getting dinner made!

Chris had a dinner appointment and was going to be late anyway so I put the kids to bed at a reasonable hour and sat down to read my book. I was still reading at 10:30 p.m. when Chris got home and promised him I would go to sleep soon. Next thing I knew I had finished the book and it was 4:00 a.m.!! I was so keyed up thinking about the book that I had a hard time going to sleep. Needless to say, I cannot wait to read the next two in this trilogy. So, if you are looking for a great book to read, this is definitely one I would recommend!

Yeah! You read it! So good isn’t it? I loved the second one, too. The third one came out today! It’s killing me! I’m dying to read it but I’m going to just have to wait for my library copy. I’m number 44. And there are several copies. That’s not too bad, right? Especially if everybody reads it in a day or so! Welcome to the “Stephenie Meyer Vampire Club”! 🙂

I get caught up in books too. I try not to stay up that late though, since kids aren’t very forgiving when it comes to sleeping in. I will have to check that one out too. I just read a new book by Shannon Hale (also an LDS author), called “Austenland”. It is about a 30ish girl with an infatuation with Mr. Darcy. I enjoyed it, especially since I too love the “Pride and Prejudice” Movie.

I have also heard that this book is fabulous. I guess we’ll really have to add it to our list . . . Thanks for the recommendation!

I am so glad you read it AND that you loved it!!! You just can’t put it down! I read the second book in 2 days and can hardly wait for my copy of Eclipse to arrive (hopefully tomorrow!). It’s a great time to jump on board, with 3 books in the series out now!

    Hey Becca,

I’m re-reading them now in preparation for the 3rd book, which should be in the mail. I should be done with at least “New Moon” by Saturday if you want to borrow it…

Yeah Becca!! I read it straight through one night too! But I started later and was up until 6:30. Woohoo for the last one coming out today! My coworkers and I, being the juvenile (hehe) librarians that we are, are going to swipe all the library’s copies as soon as they come in so no one can check them out first.

Hey Jess – thanks for the offer but Chris surprised me when he came home from work yesterday – he had bought me the last two in the trilogy! I’m so excited! I began reading New Moon right away!
