As with any holiday in the Stephenson family, the 4th of July was a ‘day for work’. We were able to go through the house and systematically clean things out we don’t need anymore. While we purged, areas got tidied up, and moved to different areas. It’s amazing how rejuvenating that is.
We had a little barbecue with hamburgers and hot dogs before the rain hit. Then in the evening the kids spent some time with some friends while Chris and I went into Brooklyn to view the Macy’s Fireworks. We would have liked to take the kids but the invitation was only for two. I was glad Chris chose me! We viewed the fireworks from the roof of a building Chris worked on in the early stages of development. His boss happened to show up as well as another co-worker (along with a number of other people that were invited) so it was nice to finally meet his boss after 2 years with the company. It was a great night with a great view – kind of romantic.

Chris took shot after shot during the fireworks, maybe in hopes of playing a slide-show for the kids so they could ‘relive’ the experience but here is a taste of the night:

I’m so jealous!!!! Those fireworks look so much better than ours, we didn’t even have a “grand finale”. I was VERY disappointed, I’m glad you guys had such a great time together, it sounds very romantic.
That shot of the bridge at night is awesome!! IT sounds like a fun night out for the two of you!!
How fun to celebrate by yourselves! Never even thought of that! We might have to do that one of these years! Sounds like you had a wonderful evening and what a view!!
