My sister, Helen, and her family hosted Thanksgiving this year at Fort Knox, Kentucky. They were so great and accommodating as the list of company expanded over a short period of time. I can honestly say I had never been on an army post and enjoyed being woken up at 5:00 a.m. to the bugle and hearing it again at 5:00 p.m. There is some sort of comfort in that.
Our 12 hour trek out to KY was fairly uneventful, although this was the repeated statement at every bathroom stop: “Honey, you take them into the bathroom, I have to make a phone call.” Evidently business in Europe doesn’t take a vacation for America’s Thanksgiving. I was glad I snapped this picture of Chris ‘working’ while away from the office.

Here are some of the highlights from our trip:

Cami – not so much. Granted, Kaiser is almost taller than she is.

Russell worked his magic with the turkey.

The dinner spread:

Doesn’t Mason look excited about his turkey leg?!

The Family

Doesn’t Mom look like a proud matriarch?!
