6th Grade Wrap Up by Hannah

This year I was in sixth grade. It was really fun to have more subjects because we didn’t have as long in each class.  Art was definitely one of my favourite subjects. We didn’t do many projects, but we spent a lot of time on the ones we did. We did folder designs (shark), dragons (dragon), and Op Art (black and white). My favourite project was Op Art.

I also got to take some fun field trips.  My first one was going to Spain for a week. All the middle school students who were studying Spanish were invited to go.  Since Caleb and I were in the same level of Spanish we got to hang out.

Spain was amazing! One of the places we went to was Sevilla. It was really pretty.

Another extended field trip that the 6th grade went on was to the Peak District for a week. It was fun, but I wasn’t really into some of the sites.  One of our first stops was to Warwick Castle, which I’ve been to a number of times so it wasn’t as fun for me as it was for others.  Although, this time, we went into the dungeon. It freaked me out so badly that I had to go out in the second room.

We also had a Ghost Walk where we had a guide, and he told us ghost stories while we went around the area. It was interesting, but kind of boring.  The best part of my week was getting to hang out with my friends.

I had a really good time with sports this year, playing something each season.  I played soccer, basketball, and then softball at the end of the year. I really enjoyed being on a team and trying my best.

My position was 1st base, which I really enjoyed since I was able to help get a lot of outs for my team.

I also improved my batting and throwing skills.

Every year at the end of the school year, we have Family Fun Day at the school.  We get to bring our family to the school and do fun activities. I really enjoyed this years’ because they had trampoline jumping!

It was also really fun to hang out with two of my best friends.

Even though I had some of my long-time friends move away this summer, I’m excited for what’s to come next.  As long as I still have some of my friends at school and technology to keep in touch with those who moved away, I will be happy and excited for 7th grade.  There will always be new friends to make and new things to learn.
