I have had some friends share with me lists of “100 Things” about themselves and have wondered if I could come up with that many things about myself. Here are “100 Things About Me:”
1. I’m the oldest of 5 children
2. Have 1 brother and 3 sisters
3. Grew up as an Air Force ‘brat’
4. Have lived in 12 states – 2 of them twice
5. I get nervous in the dark – Am I too old to be afraid of the dark?
6. Always asked for a horse growing up for every holiday and birthday – never got one though
7. Very accident-prone growing up
8. Have inflicted wounds on all my siblings from being accident prone but never hurt myself . . . hmm
9. Not true! I did shut my elbow in the car door once and Dad made me a sling because I thought it was broken – an x-ray said it was just bruised
10. Was on the swim team in middle school
11. Afraid of deep water (yea, weird), especially when you can’t see what’s below you (like at the lake or ocean)
12. Ran track and cross-country in middle school and half of high school
13. Took our family van around the block before I could drive when my mom said I couldn’t go to my friend’s farewell party
14. Steered our car (without a license) while Mom shifted the gears to take my sister and her friends to practice at school (Mom had just gotten her eyes dilated and couldn’t drive)
15. Took life-saving courses but never worked as a lifeguard
16. Involved in fatal car accident when my friend was driving us home from track practice in high school – cut my running career short J
17. Had an ‘out of body experience’? – most blame it on the concussion I had but I don’t remember any of it except for stories people told me – I told them I was running alongside the car and then went to try to get help
18. Mom had surgery on her foot the same day of my accident so she was laid up at home while I was laid up in the hospital – not a fun time to be without your mom
19. Received my driving license with a cast on my leg – good thing I didn’t have to take the driving part of the test
20. Had mono my senior year of high school
21. Went to school only in the afternoons for about 6 weeks until my mono was under control
