Book of Mormon Party
Jun 3rd, 2009 by Becca

We finished the Book of Mormon as a family!! It may have taken us about 2 years to do it but WE DID IT!! So, we decided to have a “Book of Mormon Party” to celebrate!
I was in charge of the games so we did “The Lost 116 Pages” where I basically stuck 116 pieces of Post-its around the house then everyone set out to find them. In the end we were still missing 5 pages but working together we found all the lost pages!
We also did this fun Book of Mormon Riddle I found on the internet.
Chris was the mastermind behind our “Golden Plates Cake.” He cut a wire hanger for the bindings and sprayed it all with yellow icing spray then used a toothpick to make the ‘writing.’

Clearly, the excitement from the party wiped Cami out during the refreshments.

We are excited to make this a tradition as we continue our family scripture study. Now . . onto the Doctrine and Covenants!
Wow!! What a fabulous, fun idea! Love the cake.
That is awesome. I am going to need to have a Book of Mormon party. We started in Jan and we are only into 2Nephi something…close to the end of it though. I love the cake. You are so talented girl! There is no doubt that you children have a testimony and it will continue to grow even around friends who may have different beliefs.
Such a great idea! It may takes a 5 years, but it will be the party of the decade when we make it! It must feel incredible to see your kids developing their own testimony. You are great parents and those special kids came to you and Chris for special reasons!
I think 2 years is pretty good. We have been reading for about two years now and are still not done! Way to go.
What a fantastic idea! I need to remember this when my kids are a bit older…
Wow, this is so great! I am so impressed that you’ve finished the Book of Mormon as a family, and imagining how this party surely made it a great memory for your kids. I’ve definitely got to remember this one.
