Emma turned eight last month and has been so excited to be baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Baptism occurs when you turn eight, or what we believe to be the age of accountability. She would have liked to have been baptized a few weeks ago after her birthday, but we waited until today when we could celebrate with family and friends in California.

It was an amazing experience, not only for Emma, but for her parents as well. We still can’t believe that we have a child this old and wonder how it is passing so quickly.
We celebrated with Becca’s parents, who flew from Illinois, my family, and a few friends in California. We enjoyed spending such a special day with everyone and thank all those who participated in the program to make it so memorable for all of us. We especially thank Grandma Stephenson for making such a wonderful baptismal dress. It made the whole night even more special. Emma still talks about the way she felt when she was baptized. We hope she will always remember that feeling.
