Saturday we got going right away so we could get checked out of our hotel and meet Cathy for breakfast. When we were at Cornell, Cathy was our neighbor and quickly became a part of our family. She is an ‘adopted-grandmother’ to the kids and we all love her. We had a great breakfast with [...]

Friday morning we took the kids to the Sciencenter. The all time favorite ‘exhibit’ for any kid there is the water with the ducks. Caleb took charge and had whatever kids were there at the moment building dams, directing water flow, and racing ducks. He could have spent all day just in that area. [mygal=caleb_ducks] [...]

We took the opportunity to steal back to Ithaca, NY for the weekend. Actually, it all started because Chris needed to go to Cornell for a conference for work . . . he realized it coincided with the infamous Ithaca Book Sale so we all planned to go . . . Chris’s boss told him [...]

This year we are experiencing the great juggling act of two kids in baseball/t-ball, different teams, different fields, same time, one parent. Hopefully there aren’t too many games that coincide but tonight was the first and thankfully it worked out okay since Hannah’s t-ball games are one hour no matter what and Caleb’s are longer. [...]

Today is my nephew Mason’s birthday. He is turning 6 years old and is a child who ALWAYS has a smile on his face. It’s so contagious . . . as is his laugh. He and Hannah have seemed kindred spirits every time we get them together. They are 8 months apart with very similar [...]

Every year we revamp our 72-hour kits. Caleb was the one that reminded us this needed to be done and stepped up to the plate to plan it for Family Home Evening this week. Our run to the store: [mygal=72hr_store] Unpacking the bags: [mygal=72hr_unpack] Loading up the food: [mygal=72hr_food] This is our schedule of food [...]
