Primary Temple Day

Our ward’s Primary had a great day at the London Temple grounds today. We rode the bus down and the kids were able to visit the Visitor’s Center, where they watched a short movie and did a scavenger hunt.  They were all quite reverent inside and loved learning more about the temple. But, when we [...]

End of School Year Fun

Today is our last day of school for the school year.  Beyond the excitement of having 6 weeks of summer ahead of us, it’s fun to look back at some of the activities we experienced in the last few weeks. Falconry One week the kids had a falconry visit to their ‘Flexi-school.’  Cami and I [...]

Father’s Day 2010

Being here in London for Father’s Day was a different experience.  Yes, it is mentioned, but not truly celebrated.  I was expecting a little more commercialization, no extra church meetings, children singing in Sacrament meeting, etc.  Nothing.  One of my British friends told me it is a relatively newer holiday here and isn’t pushed as [...]

Old Friends, New Place

When we found out we were moving to London, we turned to Brandon & Josie, friends we knew at Cornell, who moved here a number of years ago.  They were a wealth of knowledge and helped us get our feet underneath of us as we quickly had to turn around and figure out Christmas, where [...]

The older two kids attend a special Homeschool “School” one day a week.  It is quite a distance from where we live so I’ve been trying to come up with some fun things to do with the younger girls while we are out that way.  So, this week we went on a ‘Wind in the [...]
